Man arrested on youngster abuse, drug costs after toddler significantly injured in NW Wichita – KWCH
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Police arrested a man on Friday for child abuse and drug accusation after a baby was seriously injured in northwest Wichita.
According to police, around 11:20 p.m. officials together with Fire and EMS responded to the call of a child who does not breathe in a residential complex in block 3600 of W. 13th St. N.
They met a nine month old girl with serious injuries. The girl was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and remains there.
The police found out that the baby was in the care of 25-year-old Brietan Rader at the time. He was arrested and sent to the Sedgwick District Detention Center for child abuse, child exposure, marijuana possession with intent to sell, growing marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
During their investigation, the officers also discovered a marijuana cultivation in the home.
According to the police, two boys in the home, aged six and two, were also taken into police custody.
Investigators state that the case is brought to the Sedgwick District Attorney's Office.
